Final Crisis #3:
I have to be honest. I have no idea what is going on here. The
basics, yes, I get them. Evil has won. Libra is creating an army.
The heroes have formed another army. Batman is captured.
Superman is keeping Lois alive and out of play and Wonder Woman
has just been compromised. Barry Allen was back, chasing a bullet
through time that killed Orion. Got that stuff. But what is going on
with Frankenstein, Mister Miracle, Super young team and some
random German person. Maybe it will read well all together, but so
far, I am just scratching my head.
Robin #176:
I have to admit it, I have not been reading Robin. I picked it and the
last one up as RIP tie-ins. Not a bad story. It is fleshing out some of
the back story necessary to understand RIP better. Addresses the
One Year Later gap and is showing some doubt about the reliability
of his friends to Robin. Ok.
Nightwing #147:
I only read Nightwing in the One year Later books and hated it.
Hated the art and the story with Jason Todd. This one isn't bad, but
I really don't see the RIP tie-in. Nightwing has to save a person in
witness protection who is going to be taken out before testifying.
Pretty standard stuff. Ok.
Secret Invasion Front Line #2:
More of Ben Urich talking to regular people during the Skrull invasion.
I likes Civil War Front Line as much as i liked Civil War. I did not
care for World War Hulk Front Line. I t seemed like filler. This is
leaning in the filler way. I really hope it is going somewhere.
Hulk #5:
C'mon. Lets get this book somewhere. The trade is going to take
about 15 minutes to read. Here is some big red character beating
things up. Issue after issue. Isn't that why people didn't like reading
the old Hulk and they had to make him smart and change things up?
So what do we know now. He is stronger than both Hulk and Thor,
yet is worthy to lift Thor's hammer. The pacing and the fact that this
series has been late have not helped the story at all. Yuk.
Iron Man Viva Las Vegas #2:
We had to wait an extra 2 months for this? To summarize: Iron man
meets Lara Croft, Tomb Raider. She asks for help to find out who
hired her to dig up this huge dragon statue. She is somehow
concerned no, after the fact. Tony and Lara go to the gala opening
to get a closer look at the statue who turned into...wait for it...Fin
Fang Foom. Didn't see that one coming. Now, too be fair, the art
was nice except for some crossed eyes. But now we will get 2 issues
of Iron man fighting Fin Fang Foom. Wooo. Yuk.
The Boys #21:
I really do love this book. It has had some missteps, but overall,
every issue is a joy to read. This issue is what if superheroes
arrived to stop a plane crashing into the twin towers, but were
woefully unprepared. Disaster ensues. Excellent!
